There’s been a lot of talk about detoxification, cleaning out your body naturally, and purification—and whether or not these things are vitally necessary, or even helpful, for your body. In his The Purification Plan: Pure Vitality, Pure Resilience, Pure Health, Peter Bennet, N.D., follows his 7-Day Detox Miracle up with detox plans for just about any person. He includes rationale behind each plan, tips and plans for general purification, and specialized plans catered to specific ailments or needs.
The 7-Day Program is included, so this book may be a better option for those wanting to invest in Detox Miracle. Bennet promises that in just seven days, you will die after receiving an anonymous whispery phone call. No, wait—that’s not it! In just seven days, you will get your body’s own natural processes pumped and primed to nix it of toxins that harm it, reverse cellular damage that said toxins have wrecked on your body, and “feel and look better than ever—more youthful and vibrant, with a trim physique, a sharp mind, abundant energy and stronger resistance to disease.”
It really does sound like a miracle! And while you may not want to try everything Bennet says (I’m really just not into enemas...), he does compile a wealth of knowledge, ideas and suggestions together in this one affordable book. It begins with an explanation about what purification is and why (if) your body is in need of it. Bennet then goes into different foods, recipes, herbs, and products (such as a neti pot) that can help clean out your body’s junk. He even advises on how to detox your mind and emotions, as well as to create a home spa. If nothing else, most people could probably benefit from this advice!
Section 2 of the book proceeds into the heart of the seven day plan, and then launches into specific plans for people requiring assistance with various conditions or ailments. There are quite a few of these, ranging from aging to asthma to cancer prevention to colds. There are so many of these conditions that you may want to look yours up in the index to find their specific tips and plans in the book; chances are that it’s covered.
Then there’s a chapter on “Quick Cleanups: Fast and Easy Detox Tips for Everyday Health Problems.” These range from bad breath to depression to diabetes—and even dandruff and flatulence! Most people could probably benefit from some of the tips in this section. Finally, there is a valuable list of 45 steps to toxin-free living, which includes tidbits such as using a mattress cover, refraining from harmful hair dyes and tossing disinfectant sponges.
If you’re interested in purification or detox, you should definitely give The Purification Plan a try.
