Sign the Breast Cancer Petition

Ahh, Lifetime. Whether you love it’s tear-jerking, uber-dramatic made-for-TV madness or you hate it, you have to admit it’s definitely the women’s network—and I don’t mean that by any stereotypical way, either. Lifetime is always supporting women, holding campaigns for women’s health and issues and raising awareness about anything that concerns women. Sappy or not, it’s got the collective female back—and boobs.

Walk to Work

Working out at the gym can quickly become monotonous so to add some variation, I've decided to start walking to work. My new job is located in wine country in southern California, about 4 miles from where I live and I had to do some research to find out how long it will take me to walk there in order to determine when I should leave the house, to get there roughly around 9am. Here's what I found out.

Breastfeeding Saves Lives

The journal  Pediatrics published online today,  Monday, April 5, 2010,  the conclusion of a research study, that states that, "The lives of nearly 900 babies would be saved each year, along with billions of dollars, if 90 percent of U.S. women fed their babies breast milk only for the first six months of life." The Associated Press reports, "Several experts who reviewed the analysis said the methods and conclusions seem sound."

 Dr. Ruth Lawrence, who heads the American Academy of Pediatrics' breast-feeding section, says. "The health care system has got to be aware that breast-feeding makes a profound difference." .
